Fabulous Fives in Cape Town!

Most of us wouldn't think twice about going on a shopping trip to New York or maybe Las Vegas for 4 or 5 nights but have you ever considered Cape Town?

Recognised as one of the worlds most beautiful cities, yes it's a bit longer on a plane than going to the US but the great thing is they're on the same time zone as the UK so there's no jet lag! No waking up in the middle of the night or falling asleep over dinner or indeed feeling rotten for a few days after coming home.

There's enough to see and do in and around Cape Town from beautiful beaches, the Winelands not to mention diving with sharks and many other things to keep you busy for weeks but here are 5 great things to do on a short break.

Cable Car To The Top Of Table Mountain

The view of the City Bowl from the top is spectacular and will stay with you forever and if you're feeling very adventurous you can abseil back down and claim to have done the world's highest commercial abseil!. The less adventurous can of course catch the Aerial Cableway up... and back down.

Dive With Sharks

South Africa has an incredibly diverse shark population. A quarter of the world’s shark species (98 to be precise) dwell in South African waters and around 40 of these call the waters around Cape Town home. Shark Cage Diving is very popular with many companies offering this lifetime experience. The cost is usually around R1,100 (about £60), very reasonable.

The Jackass Penquins

Go see these "funny" birds with the strange voices at the African Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach

The Cape Winelands

After a very scenic drive of about an hour from Cape town, you can visit the famous wine estates with virtually all of them offering wine tasting - you'll need to decide who's driving before you leave to avoid arguments later! The scenery here is from a different world with rolling vineyards and towering mountains

Take Me To The Beach!

The Twelve Apostles mountain range provide the back drop to the beautiful beach at Camp's Bay and make it the perfect chic and trendy beach town to visit. Take a table at one of the restaurants here and wait to watch the amazing sunset over a glass of South African wine. Can almost taste it can't you?

This trip costs less than you'd think and is great value at the moment. For example if you were to go next month (June 15), including:

  • Return Flights

  • 4 nights accommodation at the 3* Camps Bay Resort

  • 5 Day Car Hire with Avis picking up and dropping off at Cape Town

The trip could be yours from £745 er person, that's an awful lot of trip for the money!
